Under the program of visiting professors Dr. Scott Cannon Miller from the University of Utah, a member of the American\u00a0 Association of Anatomists, the editor of the American Journal of Anatomy had held seminars and master class lectures on the chair of the Normal Anatomy of the Kazakh State Medical University\u00a0 in the period November 11 till November 17, 2011.<\/p>\n

The lecture of Dr. Scott Miller\u00a0\u00a0 \u00abCurrent Concepts in Anatomy Education\u00bb was attended by the chair of anatomy stuff and anatomists from other medical educational centers of Kazakhstan (Semei, Astana, Aktobe, Shimkent, Turkestan).<\/p>\n

Also for the students of\u00a0 the faculty \u201cGeneral Medicine\u201d\u00a0 Dr. Scott Miller gave lectures on osteology,\u00a0 bone stock biology, age, sex and individual variability of the skeleton anatomy,\u00a0 on morphological changes of the adrenal gland of laboratory animals under normal and stress conditions.<\/p>\n

He gave master class lectures on the subjects \u201cImaging methods in the anatomical sciences\u201d and\u00a0 \u201cNanotherapeutic drug delivery systems and peculiarities of anatomical organs and systems functions\u201d.<\/p>\n

Prof. Miller\u2019s\u00a0 lecture \u00abDemands to\u00a0 manuscripts and\u00a0 rules and ethics of publishing in western journals\u201d arose a great\u00a0 interest among the University scientific and educational stuff,\u00a0 student interns and residents and pre-doctoral fellows.<\/p>\n

There also was held a round table with Prof. Miller\u2019s participation and the Students Association \u201cThe best 100\u201d.<\/p>\n

Prof. Millers visit has had a lasting deep and unforgettable impression on the students and teachers.\u00a0 The high level of disclosure of his lectures content, simplicity and\u00a0 accessibility\u00a0 during discussions at seminars, the ability to charge positively the auditorium and raise correct problem issues, to give lectures in the form of a dialogue will be a good sample\u00a0 and a proper checkpoint\u00a0 for further mastering and improving\u00a0 teaching skills for the stuff of the Normal Anatomy chair of our University.<\/p>\n

The Normal Anatomy Chair advisers, docents Minzhanova G. R., Dakenova K. T., Iskindirova\u00a0 A. M.\u00a0 after having special training and getting certifications\u00a0 held meetings and consultations with the\u00a0 students of the faculty \u201cGeneral Medicine\u201d\u00a0 helping to choose electives.\u00a0 Each student has chosen two electives:<\/p>\n

one\u00a0 \u2013 a basic subject in English from 3 offered subjects and the other \u2013 a recommended subject in the Kazakh language (for students studying in Russian) or in Russian (for students studying in Kazakh language) from 11\u00a0 offered electives. The list of students who chose electives was handed to the University Office Registrar.<\/p>\n

On March 28 there was held the second round of the scientific conference of the students of\u00a0 basic subjects Department chairs.\u00a0\u00a0 Members of Science Student\u00a0 Group\u00a0 \u201cAnatomist\u201d Abdikadirov M.\u00a0 (08-009\/1) GM (Scientific Adviser \u2013 Proff. Zhanibekov D. E.) and Khairusheva D.\u00a0 (10-005\/1)\u00a0 won prizes and got diplomas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
