    HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT<\/p>\n

    Department of Microbiology, Virology, Immunology was established in 1932 on the basis of the Kazakh Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology.\u00a0The founder and first head was Professor P.F.Belikov.\u00a0In 1933-1937 Professor I.A.Sutin headed the department.\u00a0Staff of the department consisted of four people.\u00a0 Students of medical faculty studied there.\u00a0In 1938-1939 Acting Head of Department Professor N.A.Bulanov performed, and within eight years the department was headed by Professor E.I.Demihovsky (1939-1947).\u00a0In subsequent years the heads of the department were Professor D.F.Tsimbalist (1948-1953), Associate Professor Y.S.Linetskaya (1953-1957), Professor E.I.Shtikkel (1957-1963).\u00a0 Professor K.A.Makirov was in charge in 1963-1986.\u00a0In 1986-2001 head of department was MD Professor A.L.Kotova, under whose guidance were working 13 teachers, including 2 professors, 6 associate professors.\u00a02 senior teachers.\u00a0The department had a good training facilities, equipped with a thermostat, light microscopes, autoclaves, centrifuges.\u00a0In each session students perform practical (laboratory) work.\u00a0In 2001-2002 the head of department was MD, Associate Professor K.K.Kudaybergenuly.\u00a0Since 2002 till the present the head of the department is MD, professor B.A.Ramazanova.\u00a0The department currently employs 25 teachers: 6 professors, 7 associate professors, 1 senior lecturer, 9 teachers.\u00a0The department is equipped with modern facilities, equipment, specialized laboratories were opened in ELISA (\u0418\u0424\u0410) and a contrasting phase-microscopy and computer class.<\/p>\n

    The department annually\u00a0has\u00a0won prizes\u00a0in competitions in\u00a0activity of professors and teachers conducted by\u00a0the University\u00a0.\u00a0Microbiology\u00a0is\u00a0fundamental\u00a0science, so\u00a0studying\u00a0it\u00a0is mandatory\u00a0for physicians\u00a0of all specialties.\u00a0Students\u00a0of the 2nd and\u00a06th\u00a0courses.<\/p>\n

    Department staff\u00a0has always\u00a0carried\u00a0a large\u00a0research project, in particular, activities related to the\u00a0problems of “Nosocomial infections”, “Pure\u00a0Light”, “Diarrhoeal diseases”, “Health of the population.”\u00a057\u00a0reserved\u00a0candidate and doctoral dissertations,\u00a0released monographs, 4\u00a0brochures\u00a0and more than 20\u00a0training manuals\u00a0(in Kazakh and Russian languages), 50\u00a0guidelines,\u00a0eight\u00a0collections of\u00a0tests.\u00a0Received\u00a0six\u00a0invention certificates, 20\u00a0certificates of\u00a0rationalization proposals.<\/p>\n

    The department\u00a0offers\u00a0elective\u00a0courses\u00a0in all faculties\u00a0KazNMU\u00a0in Kazakh, Russian\u00a0and English:<\/p>\n
