The department of internship and residency of general practitioners No. 3 was organized in 2012. The first head of the department and its organizer is the candidate of medical sciences, Akazhanov Nurbek Arasanovich, a member of the European Association of Urologists, the Association of Family Physicians of Kazakhstan. In 2011, he was awarded the title of “Best Doctor of the Year” in Almaty, included in the encyclopedia “The Best Health Workers”, in 2012 he was awarded the jubilee medal “100 years of D.A. Kunaev. In 2012, he was awarded the title of “The Best Healthcare Manager” of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Begimbetova R.S. Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor from September 2010 to March 2011, she acted as the head of the department of postgraduate training of interns-general practitioners No. 2, then as a professor in the same department. From September 3, 2012 – Acting Head of the Department of Internship and Residency of GP No. 2. For many years of work and contribution to the development of the university, Professor Begimbetova R.S. was awarded with awards – diplomas of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the university, the badge “Excellent Health Worker of the Kazakh SSR”, the Gold Medal of KazNMU, the medal “Veteran of Labor”, had the title of Honorary Professor of KazNMU.

Since 2015, she has been acting head of the department Karibayeva Dina Orynbasarovna, associate professor, candidate of medical sciences, member of the Association of Family Doctors of Kazakhstan, general practitioner of the highest category.

Since September 2016, Ramazanova Sholpan Khamzaevna, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor, doctor of the highest category, pediatrician, has been acting as the head of the department.

Since 2021, Alla Evelievna Mereeva, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, doctor of the highest category, obstetrician-gynecologist, has been acting as the head of the department.

In 1989 she graduated with honors from the medical faculty of the Almaty State Medical Institute. 1989-1990 passed an internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology. 1990-2004 she worked in the maternity hospital No. 5 in Almaty as an intern in the department of physiology of pregnancy, head of the department of pathology of pregnant women. In 2004 she defended her Ph.D. thesis, the topic of her Ph.D. thesis was “Prevention of bleeding in the third and early postpartum period by direct electric current of low strength.” In 2008 she defended her doctoral dissertation, the topic of her doctoral dissertation was “Caesarean section and delivery of pregnant women with a scar on the uterus.” Professor Mireeva A.E. author of more than 80 scientific papers, including 1 textbook on obstetrics and gynecology in the Kazakh language, 2 teaching aids, 5 pre-patents for the invention.

Research interests: Actual problems of obstetrics and gynecology.

In order to create an effective and affordable system of medical care, to form an effective healthcare system based on the priority development of socially oriented PHC, in order to implement the Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev, the PHC Center was established at the United University Clinic. The department of internship and residency of general practitioners No. 3 was renamed into the department of primary health care (extract from the protocol No. 7 of the meeting of the Academic Council of KazNMU dated January 29, 2014). The main base of the department is the PHC Center at the United University Clinic.

The department trains general practitioners in internship. The purpose of the internship is to train general practitioners (family doctors) to work in family outpatient clinics, polyclinics, medical units, emergency medical services, as teachers in secondary and higher educational institutions, non-state medical institutions and in private practice.

The training uses innovative methods: PBL, CBL, TBL, visual organizers, brain ring, Mind Map and Prezzi programs.

The teaching staff of the department has academic degrees, academic titles, qualification categories.

The staff of the department preserves customs and traditions in the implementation of the strategic plan for the development of KAZNMU named after. S.D. Asfendiyarov, actively participates in the public life of the university.
