The scientific activity of the department is conducted not only in traditional fundamental directions (diabetology, thyroidology, reproductive endocrinology), but also covers new urgent problems: the study of hormones APUD – systems, cytokine therapy and cytokinodiagnosis, gerontology.
The department staff are participated in the scientific and technical programs:
1. Grant of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2011-2013 “Development of an anti-aging program to ensure active longevity of the elderly in Kazakhstan”
2. Grant of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2013-2015 “Molecular analysis of genetic defects of beta-cell function and improving the diagnosis of monogenic diabetes in the Kazakh population.”
3. Intra-university grant 2012 “Comparative molecular analysis of genetic defects of beta-cell function and improved diagnosis of monogenic diabetes mellitus in the Kazakh and American-Caribbean populations of New York”

There are acts of implementation and Patents for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, diffuse toxic goiter, nodular goiter, hypothyroidism, and diabetic foot syndrome.
