In the 2020-2021 academic year, 5 projects were carried out at the department, since this year the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan allocated funds to finance scientific projects of universities in Kazakhstan. KazNMU started several multidisciplinary projects, which included the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

In 2020-2021, the publication of the teaching staff of the department: 40 scientific papers (articles, abstracts), 2 of them with an impact factor and 2 patents. The staff of the department held 20 different scientific events.

In addition, the staff of the department took part as speakers in 5 scientific Forums and Conferences, 4 of them are international, 2 are of republican significance.

Participants of the scientific and student circle took part in the competition of scientific works of students and the scientific-practical intra-university conference: 1 report (3rd place) received a prize. Based on the results of research work and conferences, the participants of the circle with leaders published articles and abstracts in medical journals of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the CIS. Also, this year, residents are included in the NTP with program-targeted funding of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the topic: “Development of approaches for assessing the risk of severe acute coronavirus infection COVID-19 and post-covid syndrome to reduce preventable causes of complications and disability”, as junior researchers.

In the 2021-2022 academic year, the teaching staff’s publication plan was fulfilled by more than 100%, these are 45 scientific papers (articles, abstracts) published in foreign peer-reviewed journals and journals of the KKSON MES RK, more than 4 of them with an impact factor. In the 2020-2021 academic year, the staff of the department took part as speakers in 5 scientific Forums and Conferences, 4 of them are international, 2 are of republican significance. The staff of the department held more than 20 different scientific events (master classes, conferences, seminars). Also this academic year there are implementations in practical healthcare (3 acts of implementation).

At the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology KazNMU named after. S.D. Asfendiyarov in 2021, the program of visiting professor Radzinsky Viktor Evseevich was implemented on the topic: “Actual issues of obstetrics and gynecology.” Based on the results of joint work with visiting professor V.E. Radzinsky, articles were published in peer-reviewed publications of the CIS.

Teaching staff of the department: Isenova S.Sh., Abdykadyrova B.I., Skakova R.S., Sultanova Zh.U. were reviewers of dissertations of doctoral students submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy PhD 6D110200 – “Public Health” and 8D10102 – “Medicine”. There is also a review of articles and abstracts of young scientists published in foreign journals and journals of the KKSON MES RK.

From December 20 – December 24, 2022 at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of KazNMU named after. S.D. Asfendiyarov, the visiting professor program was implemented: MD, Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with a course of perinatology of the Medical Institute of the State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia” Orazova R.M. on the topic: “Modern aspects of gynecological diseases. From 03/27/2023 at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of KazNMU named after. S.D. Asfendiyarov, on the basis of the Center for Perinatology and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, a training program for a visiting professor began: Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Chief Obstetrician-Gynecologist of the Ural Federal District, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation Bashmakova Nadezhda Vasilievna.
