Research work is an integral part of the department’s educational, methodological, and research activities. Throughout the academic year, monthly meetings are held to discuss current issues in the diagnosis and treatment of internal organ diseases.

Students, interns and residents engaged in scientific activities select and supervise patients with specific conditions, analyse their medical histories, and study and analyse contemporary medical literature while conducting their scientific work.

Each year, the department’s teachers supervise 2-3 research projects by interns. Members of the research club participate annually in national and international conferences and various competitions, often winning prizes.

The objectives of the research club are:

• Promotion and popularisation of scientific research among students
• Assistance in independent scientific research and organisational support for their scientific work
• Involvement of interns in intra-university, regional, national and international student events, as well as in the organisation and conduct of similar events at the university
